Butterfly Videos
If you don't have high speed Internet access, you'll need some extra time to view these videos. All of the videos are .avi's, the file sizes range from 531k to 1.2MB, and are all in a 320x240 window. If you aren't familiar with viewing video on the Internet, and don't have the latest media players, you will need to read the information below.
Video files are very large files and are resource hogs. They have to be compressed, like picture files, or they would be too large to use on a web site. They are still big after compression, but usuable. I've got a Hi-8 camcorder (analog), so I lose quality when I record a clip uncompressed to the computer (digital). Then I lose quality again during compression, but they are still pretty darn good in comparison to a lot I have seen.
By keeping your media players updated, you should be able to see and hear most video and audio files you come across on the Internet. If you have a PC, it probably came with Windows Media Player since it's a Microsoft program, and you will need one of the latest versions of this or Real Player to view these videos. You can click the icons to download the latest free versions (you have to install it after you download it). Both players and you should have both of them installed if you plan on viewing or listening to a lot of multimedia stuff on the Internet. Some files can only be read by one or the other player.
The videos will play better on a faster computer. If you have less than a Pentium II and not much RAM, the videos may appear jumpy. I've got a 266 PII with 128 Mb of RAM, and they play fine on it. Obviously, the better your internet connection, the faster the downloads will be. The viewing quality will be the same because you'll be downloading to a temporary file, then playing.
My camcorder is a Sony Hi-8 XR model and has S-video and the yellow, red and white RCA plugs for connecting it to other devices, like my computer. It has the same plugs (on the video card that you need to do this if you have an analog camcorder), so I can play and edit the tape on the computer. Anyhow, if you need any more info than this, or if any of these avi's don't play on your computer, please email me. Newer videos are at the bottom.

I found this bad bad grasshopper that was chewing on one of my plants the other day and sentenced him to death by garden spider. I tossed him in the web and within a second, the spider was wrapping him up in web silk. The spider later had the grasshopper for dinner. Click here to see the pre dinner festivities - 1.57MB.
That's it for now - I'll be adding more eventually...
